How often have you said a problem shared is a problem halved? And how many of us have achieved our goals and dreams without the help, advice and support of other people? We are all stronger together and that’s just what a Circle of Support could mean for you. Share the problems, the joy of achieving and in the process build confidence and plan for the future.
Sutton Mencap has a new project Circles of Support, aimed at adults with a learning disability, their family, friends and carers and there I will be an information meeting on Monday 12 September

"You will be no doubt aware of the tragic events in Nice. Although there is no information I am aware of to suggest Sutton is at any greater risk than before, we are mindful of the effect incidents like this can have on community confidence and we have increased reassurance patrols accordingly. "We also are aware that significant events at home or abroad can increase intolerance, hate or extremism. We will also increase our vigilance to prevent this. Hate crime and extremism is usually perpetrated by a small minority people who try to divide communities but this has no effect where strong community cohesion exists. "Our Dedicated Ward Officers are familiar and well known figures in local neighbourhoods. Please contact your local officers if you have any concerns. They will be pleased to hear from you and provide any help that they can. If you have information to offer please telephone 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 55511."
