3. London National Park City
• London can become a National Park City once 436 wards and the Mayor of London have declared their support. London Mayor Sadiq Khan has given his backing and 191 wards across 29 boroughs have already declared their support (including Wallington North, Wandle Valley, Carshalton, Sutton Central and Sutton North). We are asking our local councillors to declare Beddington North’s support for London to become a National Park City.
4. Therapia Lane
• A request has gone in to Sutton for Local Committee funding to improve the watercourse. More information on land ownership is needed.
• The seagulls roosting on the Co-op building -Peter Whitehead asked to approach the Co-op as Chairman of BID to see if measures can be taken to stop seagulls roosting.
• Update on parking issues for residents Cllr Ali).
5. Sutton Local Plan / Beddington Farmlands
• S76 'Land to the West of Beddington Lane' - Officers have recommended that additional work is undertaken before a decision is made on this site. A recent industrial land survey carried out suggested that sufficient employment land could be provided through intensification of the Beddington Strategic Industrial Area. A meeting with Sutton Officers, Aecom (neighbourhood planning support), Wandle Forum and Wandle Valley Regional Park proposed for 25 July.
• Update on extraordinary meeting of Viridor Conservation and Access Management Committee to discuss role of community representatives (Cllr Piracha)
6. Richmond Green
• Update on petition / site issues (flooding and transport)
• Proposed improvements to watercourse.
7. Public realm / Transport Update on:
• Proposed Beddington Village improvements
• Implementation of 20 mph zone
• Yellow lines on Coomber Way / Beddington Farm Road
• Beddington Lane Major scheme
• Lorry enforcement
• Air quality monitoring (Cllr Mattey)
8. Beddington Lane trees
• Meeting with Sutton Officers to review the site proposed for 1 August
