This year sees our inaugural Sutton College of Learning Adults Bake Off Competition at the Bake Off tent at the Big Event! There are two categories that you can enter; Best Large Cake and Best Cupcakes. After the judging has taken place, all of the entries will then be sold to the public to raise funds for Radio Marsden.
Judges for the bake off include published food writer & former SCOLA tutor Polly Tyrer. Polly has over 20 years of experience in the food industry, has published six cookery books including Leith’s Vegetarian Bible.
College staff will also be on hand to answer queries and advise on what your local Colleges have to offer. Run in collaboration with Enjoy Sutton and the Council’s Parks team, the event is one of many ways that SCOLA is working to bring what the College has to offer to the communities it has served for over 40 years.
You can download an entry form here. http://www.scola.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Bake_Off_ENTRY-FORM.pdf
Take your masterpiece to the ‘Bake Off Tent’ before 12pm, along with your entry confirmation on the day of the Big Event to be in with the chance of winning some fantastic prizes!
Prizes have been generously donated by Riva Bingo Sutton, Sainsbury’s North Cheam and Polly Tyrer.
Jill Whitehead, Chair of the Environment and Neighbourhood Committee at Sutton Council, said:
“The Big Event will be a fantastic fun-filled day for all the family, raising money for a brilliant cause. I encourage everybody to don their aprons and get baking; perhaps we can discover the next Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood!”
SCOLA events continue to proudly raise money for Radio Marsden. To support this worthy cause, please see www.radiomarsden.co.uk
