The Lodge, which was first opened in 1966, aims to offer a different experience from traditional day centres for seniors, with a film club and games console as well as trips out in addition to the expected board games, bingo and raffles. The Lodge also offers chair-based exercise programmes to keep Sutton’s residents active and flexible.
Tom said: “I was very proud to help Sutton Lodge celebrate their achievement of 50 years open, and would like to congratulate them on this fantastic milestone. Whilst not quite of retirement age myself, I can nonetheless appreciate the vital service that the Lodge is providing for over 60’s to socialise, stay active and take part in trips away. With their funding being cut, I hope they will be able to maintain as full a range of activities as possible in the future.”
