The Peaches Close club has in the past had such members and guest as James Hunt, Mark Butcher, Gillian Gilks, Gianfranco Zola, Gary Sobers, Joanna Rowsell, Mark Clattenburg, George Best and Tommy Docherty but now have decided to offer a social package for those who simply want to enjoy the great atmosphere and excellent facilities of this Cheam institution.
"However, for the very first time in our 96 year history we are opening our doors to Social Members. Previously, the requirement to join was that you'd pay a subscription to the Sport you wanted to play. While this still very much exists, we feel we can offer a more rounded package of Memberships that will appeal to individuals and families alike.
"We are a local Club that is open seven days a week and a huge benefit to local families is that we welcome, and encourage, kids all day every day (10pm curfew does apply). These families can now join us for just £40 per year. Compare that to joining fees and the like elsewhere! A single adult Social Membership is only £25.
"Any Membership, be it playing or social, has great benefits. We offer a Member Card which gets vastly reduced rates at our licensed bars and also loyalty points (which soon add up!). We offer reduced rates for hire of our 100-seat Function Room and Meeting Room, and offer priority access to Clubhouse events, such as New Year Celebrations and the like.
"We open at 4pm midweek until 11ish, at the weekends midday until late. Of course, we have Sky TV and BT Sport and a full alcohol license 7 days a week with a patio garden and loads of car parking on site.
"Cheam Sports Club can be viewed as one of the borough's best kept secrets but we're here and we want people to know about us. Sportsmen and women, kids, families and those who aren't aware we exist would really like us."
