The badge has been devised by the Heritage Lottery funded Living Wandle Landscape Partnership Scheme in consultation with local Brownie packs to engage young people with their local river and enjoy all things Wandle.
The guiding movement undertake many different challenges to explore a variety of subjects, from books to chocolate.
3rd Morden brownie pack have already earned their Wandle spurs by doing a fishing taster session with the Wandle Piscators fishing club so it seemed a natural progression to extend their knowledge, and the fun and take on the challenge. In the park they spotted plants and trees, noted any pollution, looked under logs for mini beasts and played an exuberant game of Pooh Sticks on the white bridge.
Pack Leader, Pip Alder said "The girls had a wonderful evening exploring the Park and discovering new things. They are very excited about getting their Wandle Challenge badge”.
The Wandle Challenge badge is available to any brownie packs in the four Wandle Boroughs. For more information please contact [email protected]
