Mears have been providing the day to day repairs services for the last 18 months on an interim basis, but as from this week, Mears will be the permanent contractor for the next 10 years.
As well as offering excellent levels of service for SHP residents, the new contract includes local apprenticeships and employment opportunities within the team.
Residents who were involved in deciding on the new maintenance contractor focused on issues that were important to them, such as contractors getting the job done first time and doing the work when they say they will.
SHP Chief Executive, Andrew Taylor, said: "After a thorough selection process, we are delighted with the appointment. Mears has a proven track record of working with housing organisations and residents, and we are looking forward to a successful partnership.
We were particularly impressed with how they embraced our commitment to putting residents at the heart of the organisation and their commitment to work with residents to improve satisfaction.”
Lucas Critchely, Managing Director of Mears, added: “We are proud to have been selected to work together with Sutton Housing Partnership and our established team is ready to hit the ground running. We look forward to delivering a first-class service, building on the successful foundation we have achieved whilst providing the interim service for Sutton’s residents.”
