The charity is dedicated to researching the cause, cure, and how to best care for people with Dementia, a disease most common in people over the age of 65.
Tom Brake Wallington and Carshalton MP was at hand for another successful annual fundraiser at Iceland for Dementia Research UK. Iceland customers helped raise £500 to fight the disease. When Tom visited the store, he drew the raffle, and a £50 voucher was won by a lucky customer. Tom Brake, who has previously campaigned to help those with dementia and alzheimer's disease, said “I played a small part in what was been a fantastic event organised by Iceland, in order to raise money for a disease which affects so many in this constituency. Events like this bring the local community together and are key to help combat the cause and effects of the disease. We all must continue to strive and do our part in the fight against Dementia, hopefully relegating this debilitating disease to the past.”
