A minicab driver was assaulted by two suspects in Croydon Road, Wallington, recently and this was one of the incidents that have taken place in the area of the borough - Beddington North.

Carshalton and Wallington MP, Tom Brake, has presented a Ten Minute Rule Motion criticizing the Government’s lack of willingness to disclose documents to the public. He is challenging the Government’s desire to restrict the Freedom of Information Act and is pressing to extend FOI to cover private companies, like Southern and Thameslink, social enterprises, charities contracted to carry out work for public authorities and the Royal Household.
Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington is calling on local residents to ensure they are taking advantage of free help and support with energy bills.
"It is important to be prepared for winter and I want local residents to understand what help is available for them. Being energy efficient and keeping bills under control is important and I advise everyone in Carshalton and Wallington to get in touch with their energy supplier to find out what support is on offer”, said the MP. An equipment fair for children with disabilities is to be held by the Queen Elzabeth's Foundation for Disabled People at its Carshalton mobility service centre.
There will be demonstrations of wheelchairs and buggies, assistive technology, sleep systems and car and air travel seating. By booking in advance there can also be free assessments for those requiring car seats, paediatric mobilty and vehicle access. There will also be training sessions on power mobility for children, car seat choice, accessible vehicle choice, advice for air travel and young disabled drivers. Healthwatch Sutton has received an overwhelmingly positive response to their short film highlighting the effects body image has on young people. The short film shows young people speaking openly about body image and the negative effects it can have.
"We hope to show this film to young people in Sutton and capture their views about body image with the intention to put together some recommendation to support young people in Sutton. The film is being shown at a special Youth Local Committee meeting in central Sutton and then at the March 2016 Health and Wellbeing Board meeting. Bus Days are a real but controlled training experience (staged on a double-decker bus) aiming to help increase confidence and encourage independent travel whilst helping people stay safe. Called Monkeying Around, as 2016 is the year of the monkey, the Carshalton based museum is offering a free session for children to join them for traditional Chinese New Year crafts with a Honeywood twist!
