Officers from Sutton’s Safer Parks Police Team responded to a call from a member of the public about two youths using one bike to ride around the park. The youth was issued with a Section 59 Police Reform Act 2002 warning, which is issued to the person and vehicle for 12 months. If within the 12 months, the offender rides any vehicle or his vehicle in an anti-social manner anywhere again, then the vehicle can be seized by police. Sgt Gavin Weldon, of the Safer Parks Team, said: “Such anti-social riding puts people at risk of serious injury and will not be tolerated. We have increased our patrols across the borough and will take action to put a stop to it.” |
