That's the opinion of Andy Brook who is a professional music producer and musician as well as a local businessman running The Brook in Wallington with his wife Thea and teaching music production at Carshalton College.
The event is being staged on June 27 from mid-day.
"I got involved in this when I was approached to book the musical acts for the event," he said.
"At The Brook we run a weekly open mic event as well as a choir, ukulele club and monthly concerts and we are keen to introduce the wealth of local musical talent to the people of Wallington.
"The effort that everyone has put into organising and agreeing to play at this festival at such short notice is nothing short of astonishing and is testament to the fact that community spirit is alive and well in this day and age.
"It promises to be a fantastic day of music for people of all ages. I hope this will be the first Wallington Music Festival of many."
