"From 13th September - 2nd November the London Borough of Sutton delivered 47 free events delivered across 20 venues, with all events themed One Planet Sutton (OPS), joining the arts and environment. Each project was delivered by organisations who successfully received up to £600 as part of a grants programme. The overall purpose of the festival is to increase the opportunities for local people to take part in art and cultural activities, whilst leaving a legacy of partnership working in the borough.
“Bioregional have been delivering sustainability projects in Sutton for the past 20 years...
Engaging people with this message and wider sustainability issues can be challenging however being part of the Imagine Festival gave us a unique opportunity to let people think more creatively about sustainability... The Arts have the power to move people, make you think again, and change your perspective on issues. In order to deliver a One Planet Sutton, we will need to change people’s views and behaviours and therefore the two have a lot to offer each other.” - Bioregional
The festival engaged with 4,491 people.
Previous numbers for IMAGINE have had an average engagement of just 1,000 under the same budget.
From the feedback, we could see that over half had not previously attended a council event, and all said they would come to another event hosted by the London Borough of Sutton.
