SAVVY Theatre Company with support from Arts Network Sutton will be performing a very special version of ‘Hospital Food’ by Eugene O’Hare on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th March.
Not only will the performance integrate live action and film, the project is also bringing two young community groups together – the SAVVY Young Company and the Life Centre’s Media Group.
Tina Stevens, Sutton Life Centre Manager commented, “I’m very excited to be working with SAVVY Theatre Company on this project. They always produce such memorable experiences and I’m delighted they’ve chosen the Life Centre on this occasion.”
“It’s more of an immersive experience.” said Sheree Vickers, Artistic Director of SAVVY Theatre Company. “The Connections Festival Director was very interested in our concept and I’m hoping the team from the National will be able to attend.”
The play itself is set in a teenage cancer ward and members of the SAVVY Young Company have already been to the Royal Marsden, showing off puppets from previous productions and meeting teenagers currently under-going treatment.
Tickets for each of the three performances are strictly limited in number due to the unique venue.
The performance lasts for 45 minutes and audience members are advised to bring a cushion or pillow to sit on. Chairs are only available on request for anyone with specific mobility issue. The show contains moderate swearing and is not recommended for young children.
