Much of the filming took place in and around Sutton High Street in the summer of 2013. In addition key scenes were shot in Ewell, Wallington and Nonsuch Park. Local schools, colleges, restaurants and pubs also provided much-needed locations. This gave the finished film a real local flavour.
The Sutton Film Makers is a group dedicated to the art of film and video making and is based in Sutton. They meet every Wednesday at the Parochial hall in Cheam.
Members range from camcorder users who just want to become familiar with their equipment or improve their skills through to industry professionals who wish to share their knowledge and experience.
"We are an extremely friendly group and always welcome new members. It is not even necessary to own a camera to join us, all you need is an interest in Film or Video", said the club secretary.
Members of SFM were mindful of the difficulties involved in making something low budget look perfect, but through sheer determination they have had a really good try. Parallel Lines has been in post production for two years but is now ready to be viewed. It took a lot of hard work to get here and they're all very proud of what they achieved on a shoe-string budget.
