Released 9th June 2015
Ticket link: Opera
Hailed as a remarkable, groundbreaking work during two sell-out runs at the National Theatre, the unmissable London Road tells a moving story of ordinary people coming together during the darkest of experiences, struggling with frequent soliciting and kerb-crawling on their street. London Road documents the events that shook Suffolk in 2006, when the quiet rural town of Ipswich was shattered by the discovery of the bodies of five women. Set to an innovative musical score, the film follows the community who found themselves at the epicentre of the tragic events and is based on the road's real resident's interviews. This enticing feature film, directed by Rufus Norris (Broken), has an ensemble cast including Olivia Colman, Kate Fleetwood, Anita Dobson and Tom Hardy. This screening features an exclusive Q&A with key cast and crew members.

Staged for the very last time, the most popular opera of all will be screened at Empire Cinemas in one of the Royal Opera House's best love stagings, which has wowed since 1974. John Copley’s keen stagecraft and loving attention to period and dramatic detail make his production a masterpiece of realism, while Julia Trevelyan Oman’s designs evoke the atmosphere of 19th-century Paris. In a revival that is set to go down in Royal Opera House history, a number of today’s iconic opera stars return to bid farewell to this sublime staging including Anna Netrebko (Mimì), and Joseph Calleja (Rodolfo). Conducted by Dan Ettinger, this must-see production boasts one of Puccini’s most melodic and emotional scores.
