The Festival will start in Wallington Library Gardens and be based around our new bandstand. From 4pm the festival will move onto the Wallington Arms, The Woodcote Flying Club, and The Brook on Manor Road where more live music will be hosted and almost as important, alcohol available! We expect there to be fierce competition between the venues encouraging people to see the acts they are hosting.
It is being put on as part of the borough’s Take Part Take Pride summer festival.
"The idea came from a local resident who wanted to see the new bandstand showcased, and a local festival to rival Glastonbury, which is on the same day! The local hostelry owners jumped on the idea with enthusiasm offering their venues to host acts so the party could continue into the evening. Aided by a small group of residents, businesses, the Gary Mason Drummers and the ward councillors we have a full and varied line-up of acts to fill the whole day and leave you spoilt for choice in the evening," said a spokesperson.
"Best of all it is all free, so everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the festival. There will also be stalls offering face painting and other activities in the library gardens so bring the family. Who knows, you could be seeing one of these Acts before stardom takes them to Wembley."
