The event is at 7pm on Thursday 15 September 2016 in the Aitken Hall at St Andrew’s Church, Northey Avenue, Cheam, Sutton SM2 7HF.
Back in March three educational providers put in bids to the Department for Education (DfE) to open a new secondary free school in Sutton by September 2018, with the Sutton Hospital site in Belmont identified as the preferred site.
The three potential providers are Cheam Academies Network, Harris Federation and the Diocese of Southwark. All are proposing a fully comprehensive, non-selective, secondary school and sixth form, for up to 1,275 students aged 11 to 19, with six forms of entry.
At the information evening residents will hear about the proposals for the new secondary school, including the final building designs, the landscape strategy and transport assessment.
This event will start with a presentation sharing the final proposed design of the secondary school. An exhibition will run until 9pm and will highlight how the design has evolved throughout the consultation process.
A decision on the preferred provider is expected to be made by the Department for Education shortly.
