Glenthorne students recently raised more than £2,000 for a local educational charity.
The pupils raised an astounding £2,010.40 for local charity ‘Promoting Global Learning’
Founders of the charity Sue Gerrish and Henry Yentumi visited Glenthorne recently to be presented with a cheque. ‘Promoting Global Learning’ is a local charity based in Surrey who provide much needed books and learning resources to some of the most needy schools in Ghana.
"We couldn’t be more proud of our pupils for raising a breath-taking £2,010.40 along with donating all our old school uniform to a small group of Schools in Ghana," said a spokesperson.
"This is the largest donation the charity has ever received from a school and they have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the pupils. The school’s donation brings the charity to a point where they are now able to ship over a new container of school resources before Christmas this year!"
