The Programme will be conducted during normal timetabled Citizenship lessons and requires students to identify social issues in their local area and engage with charities who address them.
Once they have done this they will have specialised presentation skills training which they will use to create presentations as part of a competition within their year group. The Programme will culminate in an evening celebration where students will showcase the best work from each class. The winning team will be awarded £1,000 to give to their chosen charity with second and third prizes of £250 also available.
Throughout the Programme, students will develop key professional skills such as teamwork, organisation, research, communication and leadership. Activities undertaken in this unit will be able to be put forwards towards students' PiXL Edge accreditation. We hope students will find the Programme challenging and enriching as they are asked to consider how to make our communities better places.
