Tom showed his support for local pharmacists at the St Helier Festival last Saturday, with a stall explaining their vital role.
Tom said:
"When I met local pharmacists, they told me that the reasons for the Government changes have not been explained and the public will receive a worse service. Pharmacies are able to take pressure off GPs and A&E Departments, meaning people in need of urgent care are seen more quickly. Proposals to cut pharmacies would put local people in danger and that is why I am fighting to keep them open. Cuts on this scale would be a bitter pill for our pharmacies to swallow and could lead to a large number of closures."
