Organised by *Enjoy Sutton, the competition was announced during National Breakfast Week in January. The competition aims to raise awareness of the benefits of eating breakfast regularly as well as promote Sutton’s diverse breakfast trade.
Among the contenders hoping to win, Gail Beckley, who runs the family business Peckish Café, said: “We would be delighted to win Sutton’s Best Breakfast award. We’ve been serving up traditional breakfast fare in Sutton for more than 20 years and our regulars include second-generation customers, so we must be doing something right!
“Our most popular breakfast is the full English, and our liver and bacon dishes are not far behind.”
Also in the running, Nuala Lynch from Riva Bingo is excited about her chances: “I’m sure there’s nowhere else in Sutton where you can get a full cooked breakfast and tea or coffee for just £2 every day from Monday to Saturday.
“If we won the award it would confirm to our staff what a great job we do and show our customers that we are the best in town.”
*Enjoy Sutton is the consumer brand of Successful Sutton, the town’s business improvement district (BID).
