Sutton community groups can make communal spaces brighter thanks to a Kew Gardens initiative.
Kew Gardens, with the assistance of money from the Lottery, is making thousands of packs of wild seeds available for free, to encourage groups and communities to get together and make their communal spaces brighter and more colourful. This great free offer which could help to transform a local green space. The registration deadline is 14 February 2016. Join 25,000 people in the UK’s biggest ever wild flower campaign by sharing Grow Wild seed kits with groups where you live. We have thousands of free seed kits available. Each kit has seed to transform up to 10 square metres, so please share these packets to transform any space – from balconies to old boots, streets to boxes and buckets. The week is co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy. Sutton business advisers and accountants Harmer Slater are reminding the borough's employers that the new National Living Wage will commence in April 2016. From that date the National Living Wage premium will come into effect on top of the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for the over 25's. The National Living Wage will initially be set at £7.20 per hour. This represents an increase of 50p over the current NMW rate. The NMW will continue to apply for those aged under 25.
A new initiative to enable entrepreneurs to get a foot on the business ladder is being launched in Sutton.
