Sutton Housing Partnership (SHP) will be showing support for this year’s #HousingDay on 18 November.
The #HousingDay campaign aims to bust the myths that still exist about people who live in social housing and celebrates the great achievements of tenants and the great work they do in the community, through things like residents associations and volunteering.
On the day SHP will be sending tweets on behalf of tenants, staff and board members around this year’s theme of #ProudTenant, a campaign that fellow Arm’s Length Management Organisation (ALMO) Bernaslai Homes, ran in the summer.
Last year the national #HousingDay campaign was a truly amazing social media event and nationally produced a staggering 30,000 tweets with countless real stories. It trended on Twitter all day and peaked at number two, reaching an audience of 7 million people. To help get the campaign to number one this year follow SHP’s Twitter page (@SHP_Sutton) on 18 November.
Joanne Cambra, Director of Neighbourhoods for SHP says, “This year’s campaign is all about celebrating the lives of our tenants. We have some incredible tenants who go the extra mile for their neighbours and the communities they live in. This is a day for them to shine, we are looking forward to sharing all their stories with others. We want to encourage any of our tenants to get involved with #HousingDay and share their stories with us. They can get in touch with us by emailing [email protected].”
