Police are investigating a report that an 11-year-old girl in school uniform on her way home from school was grabbed by her arm and turned around on the path between Guy Road and Meller Close, Wallington, on Tuesday, 19 January at around 15:45hrs. Initially, police treated this incident as an attempted abduction.
However, after an initial investigation, there is no evidence to support this, nor that the assault was in any way sexually motivated.

The suspect is described as an Asian man, aged 30-40 and 5ft 10in tall. He was wearing dark clothing. Anyone with any information should contact Sutton Police station on 101.
lternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Police are keen for parents to remind their children about the importance of saying ‘no’ to strangers. Our crime prevention advice to children is to shout ‘no’ or ‘help’ and to move as quickly as possible to a place of safety such as their school or to someone they know and can trust.
