Sutton detectives are investigating a report of a serious assault outside Wickes, Beddington Lane, Croydon, on Sunday, 5 June at around 13:00hrs.
A male customer tried to leave the store without paying for a quantity of cabling when he was challenged as he left by a security guard.

During a struggle, the security guard, a male aged 55, was stabbed with a knife twice in the left arm and once in the right arm. The security guard is out of hospital and is recovering at home.
The suspect left on foot towards Asda. He is described as a male, black, of slim build and shaven head. He was wearing a distinctive, three-quarter length grey jacket with dark coloured trousers.
