Tooting came back from Cricklewood Wanderers empty handed after a 1-0 defeat and more mis-fortune in a game mostly spoiled by the strong wind, writes Martin Waring.
After only five minutes captain Dwaine Hamilton-Taylor had to come off with a nasty leg strain.
That made it an earlier than expected introduction for the popular Denis Moreira (pictured).
The half ended with the score goaless and the second period followed the same pattern as the elements seemed likely to be the only winners.
Then with twelve minutes remaining Cricklewood Wanderers were awarded a penalty after an awkward challenge.
The spot kick was converted and however unfortunate, it was another defeat for Tooting.
But there were plenty of positives with the new players settling in well and a good team spirit is building which can only mean a brighter future.
