A drab first half hour, in which neither side fashioned any decent chance, was followed by Chertsey striking twice in two minutes. Good play involving Alex Brister and John Pomroy ended with Jamie Ross firing beyond Sam Johnson-Freeman. A minute later and Pomroy was given time and space to pick his spot for 2-0 .
Richie Monan had a header disallowed for offside, and Phil Page bought a tremendous save out of George Armstrong in the Chertsey goal.
Page was denied again by the keeper from a header, and SCR gifted Chertsey a third, allowing Ben Geraughty a free run through the defence and a calm slot home. Johnson-Freeman made a couple of decent saves, and even after Armstrong had left the field with concussion SCR were still unable to find a goal.
Brister nodded home the fourth with ten minutes to go but itn truth the game had long since been up for SCR.
