Despite going in 1-0 up at the break, the firsts capitulated in the second half and ended on the wrong end of a 5-1 scoreline, writes Gary Brigden
Croydon opened the better, and it was against the run of play that we took the lead through a stunning Nathan Motley volley. This lifted us, and Croydon visibly became rattled, and in truth we should have had a penalty when Harry Smart was hauled down by the keeper, but nothing was given. Did it effect the game, possibly, going in 2-0 up against a side short of confidence would have been massive.
As it was Croydon were rejuvenated after the break and levelled and then took the lead inside the opening five minutes of the half. Richie Smith was then felled in the area, but again nothing was given, and we slumped from there.
