Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake and Sutton and Cheam MP will join Leader of Sutton Council Ruth Dombey and senior clinicians and managers will be present at Trinity Centre, Maldon Road, Wallington at 7pm.
Healthwatch Sutton is organising the public meeting this month to allow residents to express any questions they may have to a panel of the relevant Chief Executives and your local MPs, about the future of local healthcare services.
Healthwatch is concerned with local voices being heard, and able to influence the delivery and design of their healthcare services. This is an opportunity for local residents to find out about the possible changes that may be put in place in the near future by the healthcare providers in Sutton, and ask directly of the providers the questions they want answered.
David Williams, Vice Chair of Healthwatch Sutton said, “Our remit in the health and social care structure in Sutton is to ensure that the voice of the patient and / or carer is heard, so that we can influence the services we receive, and that our members and the residents of our borough fully understand the way these services are provided.”
There will be a panel that will also include; the Chief Executive of St Helier Hospital and the Chair of the Sutton Clinical Commissioning Group.
Tom Brake said, “Healthwatch Sutton has provided residents with a vital opportunity for their thoughts and worries to be heard and answered by those who are instrumental in deciding the fate of our St. Helier. I hope to see lots of residents at this meeting to share the concerns I have heard so many people express to me personally.”
Paul Burstow added, “I'm grateful to Healthwatch Sutton for organising this meeting. It is a great opportunity for people to learn why having won the battle to save St Helier's A&E and maternity units we are still not out of the woods.”
