"South London Doctors Urgent Care is a partnership between two existing organisations – Vocare and SELDOC. Vocare is an established provider of NHS 111 services nationally and has significant experience in the provision of Urgent Care and Out of Hours services across England. SELDOC manages the existing GP OOH contract for Sutton CCG as well as contracts across south east London.
"South London Doctors Urgent Care was successful because they were considered top in quality in an independent evaluation by patients, clinicians and commissioners, whilst offering a cost effective service. They recognise that a good patient experience is vital and aim to work with patients, clinicians and other health care providers to continuously review and improve the patient journey. The mobilisation has just begun with a view to them starting to deliver the new service from October 2016. The new contract will run for three years, with an option to extend for a further two years.
"This new service will mean that our patients will benefit from an enhanced service model and skill mix of specialised clinicians in a new NHS 111 clinical hub based in Norbiton, as well as:
- better provision for patients with complex needs (referrals to more than one service available)
- mental health nurses are included within the NHS 111 service model
- seamless working between the two services
- reduction in handover issues and time
- reduction in duplication
- improvements in patient experience
- local contact centre to enable local clinicians to be more involved in delivery
- better use of local services and local knowledge/expertise.
