Daniel Elkeles, Chief Executive of the trust, said he was looking forward to the event: “We have done something quite different with our Annual Public Meeting this year, combining it with our Staff Recognition Awards. We have an outstanding staffing body who work incredibly hard to deliver great care to every patient, every day, so it seems appropriate to make them the focus of our APM this year.
"Over the last year, teams across both of our hospitals have continued to show how committed they are to delivering high quality care to our patients, ensuring that the trust continues on its journey of improvement. I am proud of what has been achieved, and look forward to celebrating this work at our event on 14 October. I hope that as many people as possible will be able to join us.”
The day promises to be a bumper affair, with the APM and Staff Recognition Awards following on from the trust’s inaugural Patient First Conference, an event which will pull together people from across the organisation to highlight progress made as a result of the award-winning Patient First programme. “Our Patient First programme has been an important – and very successful – part of our work over the last year, so it is great that we are able to showcase and celebrate all of this fantastic work in one jam-packed day!”, explained Daniel. A gallery showcasing the results of Patient First initiatives from across the hospitals will be open to the public from 3.30pm.
The Patient First gallery and Annual Public Meeting are open to everyone, and there will be free parking on site at the Racecourse. The Annual Public Meeting, which will include presentation of the trust annual report and the opportunity to ask questions of the executive team, will start at 4.30pm, to be followed immediately by the Staff Recognition Awards.
