Sutton's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies team based in Wallington is offering a wide range of courses to those who feel they need support for their emotional well-being.
The team can help with:
Panic and phobias
Stress and worry
Depression and low mood
Living with long term physical health conditions.
Low self-confidence
"It is our aim to ensure that help is available to anyone that needs it," said a spokesperson.
Support comes in the form of individual or group learning sessions where those who attend understand the nature of their difficulties and then are given clear self-help techniques.
"People think of everyone sitting in a circle and having to explain their issues to one another. The sessions are much more a space to learn techniques, allowing everyone to understand what they can do to help themselves.
"Places on these courses can be available in just a few weeks. If someone wants individual support they may have to wait longer."
The support is available to anyone who is a resident of Sutton or is registered with a doctor in Sutton.
"We can offer real help to what we know are very difficult issues."
Another service on offer is a scheme which supports someone trying to cope with depression or anxiety back into work through the in-house Employment Support Service.
