Commenting on the plan, Tom Brake MP said:
‘‘I know many individuals who dedicate their lives to looking after people in Sutton. They include doctors, nurses, carers and many more dedicated individuals.’’
In Sutton, health and care organisations are investing £14.66m in delivering better care. The aim is to reduce hospital admissions in the area by 3.5% saving £0.90m which is to be re-invested in local health and care services.
Health Minister Norman Lamb added, ‘‘As a patient you have to negotiate a bewildering array of different organisations to access the care or treatment you need. Because of the lack of care people have, they end up in A&E quite often.
‘‘The Liberal Democrats want different care services to work together and focus on the needs of an individual, so that the health and care organisations can provide the best possible care.
