They were joined by Teresa Davis, Project Manager and Head of Non Clinical, Claire Forsyth, Matron, both from Spire St Anthony’s Hospital and Paul Sharp, Scott Powley, David Broderick and James Howard, all from ISG, which provides fit out services on the project.
Melvin Robson, Hospital Director, Spire St Anthony’s, said “We’re delighted that Paul Scully has “topped” out” the building. “Topping out” is a tradition in the construction industry to bestow good luck on a new building. This six theatre complex marks an important landmark in the hospital’s development. It will provide patients with up-to-the-minute surgical equipment and technologies, including a hybrid operating theatre. Patients will receive even faster access to treatment following their initial appointment, whether for routine or more complex procedures. The new facilities will be opening in September.”
The whole build programme has been carried out with tailored logistical plans to ensure there is minimal impact on patients, staff and daily operations. ISG is providing fit out services on the project, working with Beaumont & Cowling architects, structural engineers Morgan Tucker and mechanical engineers Leonard Engineering Design Associates.
Once the new development is complete, the existing building will be refurbished to further improve the patient experience at the hospital.
