The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust are looking for patients and carers to join their London Patient Reference Group for an initiative called ‘Coordinate my Care’
Coordinate My Care is an NHS clinical service sharing information between healthcare providers, coordinating care, and recording wishes of how patients would like to be cared for. Coordinate My Care allows healthcare professionals to electronically record patient's wishes and ensures their personalised urgent care plan is available 24/7 to all those who care for them. Do you care for someone?
The Department of Health is running a consultation as they want to improve support for carers. Carers freely give their time and energy to support friends or family members and many rightly take pride in providing essential support for those close to them. Caring for others should not be to the detriment of the carer’s own health and wellbeing and carers can receive support in a number of ways – including from social services, the NHS, or the benefit system. The Department of Health are looking to develop a new strategy for carers looking at providing more support for Carers. One which reflects carers’ lives now, the health and financial concerns they have, and give them the support they need to live well whilst caring for a family member or friend. The Department of Health are keen to hear from carers, those who have someone care for them, business, social workers, NHS staff and other professionals that support carers. Please go to CARERS Since 2011, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust has been providing community health services in Sutton and Merton delivering the very highest standards of treatment and care to patients in the community.
Following a process where the services were retendered The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust from 1 April 2016, has been selected by NHS Sutton Clinical Commissioning Group to provide and run Sutton Community Health Services and London Borough of Sutton to provide and run Sutton Children’s Health Services. "Over the next few months we will be bringing all services into Sutton so there may be changes to where services are provided from if they have previously based in Merton," said a statement. "Please be reassured that these changes will not affect the excellent standards of care and treatment Sutton residents are used to receiving." If you have any worries or concerns about where your next appointment is going to be, please call 0845 567 2000. Ward C2, which has been specially adapted to care for people living with dementia, played host to the concert led by singer and guitarist Daniel Agyeman, from the charity Music in Hospitals. The concert featured some of the biggest hits of yesteryear and had the patients, visitors, and staff singing along in no time! Young patients being cared for at Epsom and St Helier hospitals over the Easter weekend didn’t miss out on the fun entirely – thanks to generous donations from local businesses, a nursery and a football club. Hundreds of Easter eggs were dropped off for the patients in Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children (which is based at St Helier Hospital) by groups from Sutton Day Nursery, Tooting and Mitcham FC, Virgin Media and Asda in Stonecot Hill. Patients over in Casey Ward and Ebbisham at Epsom Hospital were also in for a treat, as they received bumper donations of Easter eggs from the local David Lloyd health club, Tate recruitment agency and Premium Credit.
