Many children who attended with their families were delighted with the opportunity to meet local officers from Sutton's Safer Parks teams and horses from the Met's Mounted Branch.
They also grabbed the opportunity to climb behind the steering wheel of one of Sutton's Safer Parks Teams' 4x4 Mitsubshi Shoguns.
Around 1,500 people attended the celebrations which lasted throughout the morning. As well as chatting to lots of people at the event, the officers were on hand to ensure there weren't any parking or traffic issues in the local area.
At one stage, Safer Neighbourhoods Inspector Insp Ian Hicks, was persuaded to join children and adults in a tug of war. "It was a very warm and good humoured event and everyone had a good time," he said.
Sgt Gavin Weldon, of Sutton's Safer Parks Teams, said: "Our officers were constantly being photographed with children and families - hundreds of pictures must have been taken."
