The Breakaways project offers day trips, nights out and weekends away, doing the kind of things we often take for granted. “It is a lifleline for our son. He has no other friends other than those at Breakaways”.
Breakaways also gives parent/carers an opportunity to recharge their batteries. “We both look forward to the breakaways weekend because my son is with his friends and staff that we have got to know and trust over the years so I don’t feel like I’m leaving him somewhere for my benefit. I know he will come home happy and relaxed and that means I enjoy my time to myself. That’s priceless!”.
