The recently opened supermarket has donated a £100 hamper of Easter eggs and treats to Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children, the dedicated children’s ward within St. Helier Hospital, located close to the store’s location on Stonecot Hill.
Asda Stonecot colleague and Section Leader, Ester Millington, visited the ward to meet some of the children currently in the care of the hospital, as well as hand out the Easter treats. Ester said “It was great to be able to help put smiles onto some young faces and give their parents one less thing to think about over Easter.”
The Easter eggs donated by the store came in all shapes and sizes and included a mix of well-known brand names like Malteaser, Lindt and Milky Bar in addition to Asda’s own brand, including some of their ‘Free From’ eggs, ensuring there was something for everyone.
Andrew Marsh, store manager at Asda Stonecot, said: “We’re keen to get involved with local causes and help contribute to community projects not only in Stonecot, but the surrounding areas of Sutton. With Queen Mary’s being on our doorstep we thought we’d lend a hand in bringing Easter to these children.”
