The cadets had just divided into three groups and set off under supervision in different directions for a navigation exercise as part of their Duke of Edinburgh bronze award training on Reigate Hill at around mid-day on Sunday, 17 April.
The cadets, aged 13-16, were called back from their exercise to assist PC Roche.
Along with Cadet Leader Grant Fulker, who is training to be a PC, and member of cadet staff Tom Langham, who is also a Special Constable, the male and female cadets made a stretcher from a survival bag and carried PC Roche 600 metres up the muddy slope to a road where she was taken by car to Accident & Emergency at Epsom Hospital.
Cadet Leader PC Gill Nolan said: "The cadets had received training only the day before in just such an incident."
Recovering at home wearing a toe-to-knee plaster cast, PC Roche said: "I just want to say how proud I was of our cadets who together with Tom and Grant, came to my rescue and carried me on a makeshift stretcher up a very steep and slippery hill.
"They were all very professional, calm and considerate and put into action all the things that they have been taught. I could not have asked more of them."
