Sutton residents are warmly invited to celebrate the successful Stage One bid for the Beddington Park and The Grange Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) project on 30 September at 7.00pm at the Pavilion Cafe, Beddington Park.
Food and drink will be provided by the Pavilion Cafe. All are welcome, regardless of previous involvement or experience.
It follows the announcement in July by the Heritage Lottery Fund to award £251,200 to develop plans to enhance the beauty of the park and reveal a history that goes back to the Bronze Age.
There is the potential for the council to receive a total of £3.2m for Beddington Park will enable more visitors to use the park.
This is one of the council’s Citizen-led Commissioning pilot projects, and has heavily relied on residents to tell the council exactly what they’d like to see improved and how communities can contribute to the park going forward.
Councillor Jill Whitehead, Chair of the Environment & Neighbourhood Committee, said:
“This event will give us the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ for all of the hard work and dedication to this exciting project. It will also focus on how residents can get involved in the next stages.”
