One Voice for Age Sutton is a members’ group hosted by Age UK Sutton, run by older people, for older people. Members speak up for older people in Sutton to ensure that they have a clear voice and the way to make a difference.
"Members can engage as much or as little as they wish. Some enjoy the social aspects, meeting new people over a cuppa, being kept informed about developments in the borough, and learning new things (each month we have a different guest speaker on topics of interest)," said spokesperson "Some take it further by representing their community on forums around the borough. Others get involved in interviewing older residents, contributing to consultations, volunteering as peer advocates, or teaching others to improve their computer skills. The choice is up to the individual.
"Why not joins us? We meet once a month on a Monday."
