Meetings are often accompanied by a speaker offering an insight into a range of topics about the parkland. They also act as a voice for the park at local committee meetings and often apply for funding from the local committee to use on enhancements and improvements.
The Friends have their own flower bed in the park, maintained by a small, dedicated team and they assist in other activities such as tree planting and tree maintenance.
"Thanks to a team of Friends we have been able to start a new and exciting activity called Xplorer," said a spokesperson for the Park.
"This is a fantastic family activity challenging children and adults alike to explore the park and find hidden markers. The first Xplorer happened earlier this month and despite some rather wet and windy weather 50 people took part and had a blast!"
If you love the park, joining the Friends Group is a great way to support it, helping represent the community voice and offering a gateway to hands on involvement through a range of activities and opportunities.
