This Saturday 27th September there is a Living Wandle Festival being held at Merton Abbey Mills from 12-5pm where there is family fun, activities and a free raffle. It is a chance for people to learn more about the river and a chance to take part in some fun river related activities.
There is also the film premier in the evening at Merton Abbey Mills – the film is a community film called Vandalis which is a 50 minute fictional film about six people stories and how the river effects their lives. It covers the four Wandle boroughs including Sutton.
On Sunday 28th September there are two events happening along the Wandle – a heritage walk and youth fishing.
"We want as many people to come to these great free events happening along the Wandle this weekend," said a spokesperson.
