Sutton PCSOs Rob Sidebottom and Dale Chen provided tips about how to stay safe to the Sutton Tamil Elders Group - and were invited to stay for a bite to eat!
Sutton Tamil Elders Group Chair, Mrs Sarva Kumararajah, said: "Their visit was really appreciated by the members who listened to their tips about how we can be safe both at home and whilst we are out and about in the High Street."
With the darker nights police are advising residents to use timers on their lights and to keep doors and windows locked when the property is unoccupied.
Shoppers are also advised to keep their money in a fastened bag held in front of them with the bag strap over their shoulder, or deep in an inside pocket. Also to shield your PIN when withdrawing money from a cash machine.
PCSO Sidebottom said: "It was lovely to meet members and their food was really tasty."
Sutton Tamil Elders meet every Tuesday from 10am-1pm at Thomas Wall Centre, Benhill Avenue, Sutton.
