The development of the Sutton One Housing Zone will "help Sutton achieve their vision to reshape and tansform the town centre and Hackbridge " according to London Mayor Boris Johnson.
In a recent meeting of the London Assembly Assembly Member for Croydon & Sutton Steve O'Connell posed the questions to the Mayor as to the impact of the Housing Zone.
"The Housing Zone will accelerate and unlock delivery of at least 1,672 units by March 2024. Housing Zone designation will help Sutton achieve their vision to reshape and transform the town centre and Hackbridge.
"The Housing Zone will help bring forward Council owned sites for housing development; deliver a range of housing, from town centre living for single people and couples, to family housing in Hackbridge; invest in new housing through Sutton’s new housing development company; and consolidate key development sites not in third party ownership to secure the delivery of additional housing," he wrote.
