A 40-year-old man has been sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment for breaking into a print business at The Parade, Oldfields Road, Sutton.
Police were alerted to the burglary by a nearby shopkeeper who reported a window being smashed and the alarm sounding at the print premises during the evening of Monday, 26 October.
Officers arrived to find the bottom glass panel of the shop door had been kicked in and pushed back into the shop.
Two males were seen by a witness to flee the premises when the alarm went off. A total of £58 float money had been stolen from the till.
Police obtained local CCTV and identified Sam Harper as one of the suspects. He was arrested at 03:00hrs on Tuesday, 27 October at Tesco in Oldfields Road.
At Croydon Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 29 October, Harper (dob: 10.6.1975), of Westmead Road, Sutton, was sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment after pleading guilty to burglary. He was also ordered to pay £180 criminal courts charge and an £80 victim surcharge.
